Kalimpong

Me, My father and My mother visited Kalimpong to spend my 2012 Summer Vacation. Kalimpong is a hill station of  West Bengal which is 69 km from Siliguri and 51 km from Darjeeling.  It is situated at an altitude of 1250m above sea level. To reach Kalimpong you have two options – a) First of all reach Bagdogra Airport through a flight then take a hired car and reach Kalimpong. b) Reach NJP Railway Station through train then take a hired car and reach Kalimpong and have fun. After reaching Kalimpong you must not forget to do shopping at the Kalimpong local market. A special market held on Wednasday and Saturday. After all Kalimpong is a really nice destination for shoppers. The places to visit are Mangaldham Temple, Delo, Cactus Nurseries, the house of Rabindranath Tagore, Dr. Graham’s Home, Zong Dog Palri Fobrang Monastery, Kali Temple, Hanuman Top, Swiss Welfare Dairy, Nature Interpretation Center and many more interesting places. More than 700 types of Cactuses in different Cactus Nurseries. You can improve yourself spiritually in the Mangaldham Temple through different Krishna lila statues. We have played with clouds at Delo. The whole Kalimpong city is seen from the Hanuman Top. There are many hotels in Kalimpong depending on your budget, you can select any one you like. Dr. Graham’s Home is co-educational institution in Kalimpong for mainly impoverished, deprived Anglo-Indian childrens and orphans since 1900. This community gives an opportunity for these children to be educated. You can taste momo, Chinese and other mouth watering food in there.
